Well done Blackford!

Blackford BC are confirmed as this seasons Champions. Perth BC finished the season as runners up after a late charge up the league. Well done to them. The presentation of the trophy and pennant will take place at Blackford BC on Tuesday, 10th September at 2:00pm. There will be a short game, light buffet and refreshments. Clubs other than Blackford are asked to send one rink to the presentation afternoon. I look forward to seeing you all then. Please confirm your attendance by e-mail.

NOTE: Perth WE will play Luncarty on Monday 9th September to complete the league fixtures but the result will not affect the first four places.

  • 6 players constitute a team. The gender make up of each team is entirely up to the participating club although it is expected to be mixed. 1 – 5, 2 – 4, 3 -3 split Male/Female, Female/Male are all acceptable. Player’s aged over 55 years of age are eligible to play
  • Clubs can enter up to 2 teams. Players can only play for one team per season. i.e. If a player starts with the “A” team he/she cannot play for the “B” team during the current season
  • Each team shall appoint a team captain. He/She will be responsible for his/her team and any decisions that have to be made before, during or after the game
  • Rinks for each discipline will be drawn prior to the game by the team captains
  • It is a team jack so team captains will toss a coin to determine who throws the jack at the first end. The winner of the toss has the choice of whether to throw the jack or give it to the opponent
  • The jack will be re-spotted to the 2m mark should an end be burnt
  • Home team will provide a marker for the singles game
  • The league will be run on Tuesday afternoons although scheduled games can be played on other weekday afternoons by mutual agreement between participating clubs
  • Any postponed fixtures should be re-arranged within 7 days and re-played within 21 days
  • Any disputes should be referred to the PDL Committee
League Table

I received an e-mail today from Cath Kinnear, Rattray BC secretary informing me that regrettably they had taken a decision to withdraw due to difficulties raising teams to play on a Tuesday and the near impossible task of re-arranging them on alternative days/dates due to internal ties/commitments. I am sorry to hear that and wish them all the best in the future.

I have already liaised with the PDL Secretary and Match Secretary and it has been decided that in accordance with the PDL constitution Rattray BC’s outstanding fixtures in the Senior Sixes League will result in 7 points being awarded to their opponents with +8 shots per discipline, i.e 7 points & 24 shots.

This is reflected in the league table below.
